Unwritten Rules Project

As the world watched the events of several high-profile cases of anti-Black racist violence in 2020, culminating with the murder of George Floyd, many Americans took to the streets in protest. A group of my colleagues and I got together to figure out a way to support this movement. 

We decided to illustrate how pervasive and all-encompassing anti-Black racism is, and highlight the injustices that Black Americans experience in our everyday lives. We created an educational platform to generate awareness of the unwritten rules Black Americans have to consider every day in order to survive. Through the site and social media, we provide further learning and deeper study to not only understand the rules, but to help erase them.
